Urjit’s big fat London Holiday

Finally, we were able to plan and manageed to take Urjit for his long pending holiday on our recent business trip to London. Since his childhood he has a fascination with this city called London. When he was just 2, I had gone to London for a month and he used to keep asking, where is mamma gone and he was being told that, she is in London and as Rojit also keeps travelling frequently, he is often away from home so Urjit thinks that he is always going to London.
So he was very excited when we told him that we are going for a holiday now and I told him stories about the city and also informed him, where all he can go during his visit. And I just showed him the attractions in London Zoo and since Urjit is very good with internet specially Google, he knows if you spell it correctly whatever you are looking for, you surely get it on Google. So he remembered the spelling of London Zoo while browsing the site with me and I just showed him one video. And after that day, he just stopped typing N I C K space J R as he does every day on Google to goto Nick Jr. website to play games. He started typing L O N D O N space Z O O. With him it is funny; he will speak the alphabets as he types it on the search box. So he enjoyed all the videos on their website and was looking forward to his visit.
I had taken London Pass so that we could visit all the places and Urjit could enjoy. I made a list of all kid friendly tourist places, but somehow with kids, you just cannot plan things. He did enjoy a lot playing in the Climbers and Creepers section at Kew Gardens and the visit to the Museum of Childhood. Then he did enjoy a lot in the planetarium in Madame Tussauds and also the taxi ride showcasing the spirit of London. But his best spot would be watching the Street plays and shows on the riverside near London Eye. And as he was looking forward to the visit in London Zoo, he was very charged up on the day when we visited London Zoo. On earlier outings, he would often complain that he is tired now and his dad should take him on his back. Rojit had told him that if he feels tired then we will just go back so he was like.. Today I am not tired.. was busy going from one section to other section with his backpack and he was also telling me.. what all animals are left out and which way we should go ( thanks to his preparation from the internet).
We also went to the world heritage city, City of Bath. While in the train, Urjit was asking me.. Mamma, where are we going? I said…City of Bath and his instant reply was.. When we will reach there, we have to get water and take bath first?
And a few months back, me and hubby had gone to Vancouver, Canada and as usual Urjit assumed that it was London.( Read the related post here – another funny incident) . He saw our snaps taken at Grouse Mountain with snow in hand so when I bought thermal wear for him before the trip, he assumed that it is going to snow in London. But after reaching there, he saw there was no snow..( he might have assumed maybe—night time it will come). So at night, when we took him out for dinner, he is asking me.. Mamma where is the snow? I said there is no snow in London and then he got very emotional.. with tears in his eyes.. he is telling me.. I know, when snow was there in London, you and papa only went to London and you kept me at nani’s (my mom) place. So I told him that it was not London but we had gone to Canada. So he became happy that it was not London and there is another city in Canada, which he could also explore.
Now, we are back to Pune and Urjit has very fond memories of his London trip and he keeps saying that he wants to go to London again. Well his mom and dad now need to earn more money as beta knows that it is fun going on holidays like this and exploring new cities.

Looks like Urjit really had a helluva fun time. I would love to show Singapore to Urjit. And kids are really giving us such complex. Even if we would plan our itinery etc but we wouldn’t look up which way to go in a zoo or any where else… really cool. Wish I was there with him to enjoy his excitment of exploring a completely new world.
Good that Urjit had a great time in London. I wish that he gets to see Canada as well which is on his wish list. Asha, your son is growing up and becoming intelligent day by day!
