Kings don’t wear specs

Recently we had been to Belgaum for my sister’s enagagement. It was a good drive as the road was very good. Urjit was well prepared for the journey. In the morning when I asked him to get up and be ready, he wanted to know.. where we are going? What is there to see… and then I told him that we are going to Rahul’s place. So he was like OK. I made sure to carry his sketch book, crayons and sketch pens so that he is occupied. He loves to do sketching, drawing, coloring.
And once we started with our journey, he wanted to sit with Bem mausi only but once the car started moving, he went off to sleep and had a good sleep. And when we stopped for b’fast, he got up and his sleep was complete. And from there, as Bem mausi was going in Ranjeeta mausi’s car, he wanted mamu to come and sit with him and give him company. And he really enjoys playing with Bobo mamu and learning sketching from mamu. His mamu is so good in that, being a student at NID, the design institute.
And the next day when we reached the hotel for the engagement, Urjit saw these two beautiful chairs kept on the stage, so he asked me..”Mamma, is this for the King and the Queen”. I said.. yes.. so he added..”So Bem mausi is queen and Rahul is the king”. I nodded yes.. and he thought for a while and he asked me.. “But mamma, I have never seen a king with specs” and to his reply, everyone had a good laugh.
I think he must be trying to recall from all his story books, cartoon on TV, if he had seen any king with specs
But it was a good observation on his part.
