How do you define a museum?

Last month, when I came across this cool site called dumpr.net , I blogged about it in my KidsandBibs Contest blog and I had shown the same to Urjit. First he got very upset, after seeing his art work in the photo.

He thought I have sent it to the museum and he was sad. Then I explained him that I still have all his original work in his file and this is just a photo of the art work, and then he got excited. And we both tried out a few options like the rubik’s cube and sketch.
After a few days, while I was busy working, I gave him a coloring page printout to color (I usually do this to keep him busy, when I am busy;) ), so while he was coloring it he came to me and he is telling me, “mamma, you send this one also to that place” I was like.. where?.. he further explains.. where there is a big corridor(i was happy to see that he is using a new word) and so many photos are there. I was still clueless.. I kept asking, what,where.. he kept quiet for a few seconds and then after thinking for some more time, he again explained ( in the hope that his mom will understand, what he is explaining).. “mamma, you know where there is a big wall and a big corridor and so many people are there, everyone has to keep quiet and everyone has to keep looking at the photos only”.. and then after some deep thinking, I assumed that he must be referring it to the museum and this photo. I said, wait a minute and I showed him the above photo and he was like “YES!“. I could see the happiness and sense of acheivement in his voice when I finally I finally understood what he was trying to say.
I will always remember that moment.I then explained him that it is called museum. Who knows, one day Urjit can turn out to be a good artist and we have exhibitions of his work;)

Even I found this real amusing. Urjit’s vocabulary is very strong for a four year old and he remembers the contexts so well. I rem’ber once when he was trying to explain “scribbling” to you. So funny that was.
