Urjit Singh Sorokhaibam

A few days ago, it was Janmashtmi and while coming back from school, Urjit saw crowds gathered at various places and dancing together, getting ready for dahi handi, so he must have asked the driver about it.So when he reached home, he was telling me .. you know mamma today is Krishna’s birthday.And we have to celebrate. Later in the evening, while going to my mom’s place we again saw, many more dahi handi set up and crowds dancing and having fun. So again Urjit’s questions.. “mamma, why everyone is celebrating Krishna’s birthday? He will cut a big cake? He also like to eat cakes?” and then on ganeshchaturthi, he was asking me the same questions again… today is ganesha’s birthday? so on sunday we decided to goto Dagdu Sheth . Urjit was wearing a dhoti kurta and was looking very cute. So he was asking his dad, what should he ask to God. His dad told him, you can ask God to give you power,make you a good human being. So once we were inside the temple, Urjit started saying his prayers.. “God, give me power, give me power, give me power“. He was totally lost with is eyes closed asking God to give him power. And though the pujari was very very busy accepting the offerings made to God, he took out time to do tilak to Urjit. And Urjit was very happy about it, he felt that he was priveleged, as he saw the pujari was not doing tilak to anyone. So he was asking me, mamma he do this to me, because I am wearing this dress. I said yes

And then on monday morning as soon as he got up, he was very very happy. He said.. “mamma you know, I saw Ganpatti Bappa in my dreams.He gave me power.” We were excited to hear that. So he continued..”I saw Krishna also, he took all my lies away..” I was like..”lies, what lies?” He is telling..”all the lies, which I say, Krishna took it away from me and gave me power“. And he was very charged up.. showing his muscles.. and he was asking his dad..”papa, come fight with me, see I am so strong now, God gave me power“. And then I just said, maybe you just saw the statue of God, and he was like …”no, I saw real God, Krishna was black and Ganpati was like red red color“.

And then later he was getting ready for school, he saw me packing fried cauliflower in his tiffin, he came running.. I don’t want to eat that vegetable. I said.. “God also came in my dreams and he said, let Urjit eat more and more vegetables so that he will become strong. ” So he was like Ok..( ok, if god has said like that type)” and in the evening when he returned from school, he was so happy and he said.. you know mamma, today I eat all the vegetables. It is a big acheivement for him and he knows that I will be happy if he eats his tiffin nicely.
