Urjit as Traffic Signal

This Children’s Day, there was Fancy Dress Show in Urjit’s school and to spread awareness about the traffic rules, we made him a traffic signal. He was looking very cute in his Traffic Signal Costume. Urjit was very thankful to his mausi for making the costume for him.

Stone Painting

This was his school assignment – stone painting. We were busy looking around for a smooth stone which can be used for Urjit’s painting. We found one from the Oakwood hotel and since we frequent the hotel, the security personnel gave it happily.

Urjit was planning to draw a mummy on the stone. I knew he was referring to a mummy, but I just asked.. are you going to draw my photo.. and he was like.. no mamma.. u know mummies.. you know pyramid and was busy explaining how mummies are and then searched through some of his story books to show me how it looks. I said.. I don’t like the idea.. drawing mummy on a stone… then he changed his mind and he came up with this lovely stone painting of Lord Krishna. His teacher asked him to keep that in a corner of the house as a decorative peice, we have kept it in the puja ghar :)

About God and Sri Krishna

This morning after his daily routine of kissi and huggi, Urjit asked..”Mamma, how can Krishna be so big in 9 years only?” I was wondering what he is asking, and was not getting what to answer. Then he explained to me that in Sri Krishna serial the actor who plays Krishna looks so big and somewhere he read that Krishna spent only 9 years in Gokul. I was trying to recollect.. how many years, and when Krishna goes to Mathura.. suddenly Urjit’s dad said “What is this Sanna, these days, most of the time you are talking about God, reading about them (most of the time, you will find Urjit lost in the book Dasavataar, reading about all the 10 avtaars of Lord Vishnu), I think it is all because of your nani (Urjit had been to nani’s place yesterday for the whole day).”

Urjit just gave his typical disapproving look to his dad and went into the bathroom. After his dad left for office, he came to me and he says:
He: Mamma, I want to ask you something.
Me: Ok ask.
He: See, there are three points. 1st, papa watches Sri Krishna everyday. I only get to watch it sometimes .( I have restricted his TV time to only friday night for Sri Krishna and Saturday morning for some cartoon serials. It is another story that he is watching Sri Krishna everyday due to the swine flu holidays).
Me: Yes I know.
He : Second point, I see that papa prays everyday. I also pray to God.. but sometimes..
Me: Ok then.
He: Third point, you will often see papa saying “Oh My God”, “Oh My God” when he talks and I don’t say “Oh My GOd”. So then tell me, who is talking more about God?
Me: Yes it is papa.
He: Then why he was saying like that to me.
Me: I will tell to papa, he was just teasing you.

So finally he was happy that I will convey his message and he could not wait for me to convey. As soon as his dad was home for lunch.. he said all the three points to his dad and made him realize :)

Urjit turned vegetarian

urjit-turned-vegetarian

Urjit has turned vegetarian since last one month. He is very happy about it. And we being proper fish/chicken eaters, my task has increased as I have to always cook separately for him. He was not eating eggs also but finally I convinced him to eat eggs atleast as he loves cakes.

When his dad asked him, why he has turned vegetarian all of a sudden…. he replies that God has asked him to do so and when we asked him further which God, he replied that it is Bobo Mamu. His mamu has told him not to eat non-veg. We tried explaining him that his mamu used to eat chicken and non-veg so Urjit replies that his mamu used to eat non-veg earlier .. and not now.. these days he eats only veg food.
